Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, married Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, previously known as Olori Wuraola during her marriage to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. The union ended her 17-month marriage to the Ooni in 2017. The Dajoh family officially welcomed Queen Zaynab into their home in Mbakor, Benue State, during December 2025.
Abraham Double-d Dajoh announced the news via a Facebook post on Friday, December 26, 2025. The family described the marriage as beautiful and uncommon, expressing joy in the union. They thanked supporters of Akume and urged continued loyalty.
Akume’s spokesman, Yomi Odunuga, confirmed the marriage when contacted on Friday. He clarified that the union is over a year old, countering rumours of a recent ceremony on Christmas Eve in Gboko.
Queen Zaynab, a prominent humanitarian, now bears the name Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh. The development has sparked widespread discussion in Nigeria’s social and political circles.
The couple appeared together in photographs shared by the family, marking the formal welcome into the Dajoh household.
This private milestone for the veteran politician and former Benue governor highlights a new chapter blending political prominence with cultural traditions.
