Reality TV star Tacha has called on the Dangote Group to take full responsibility for an accident that left Ruth, younger sister of BBNaija winner Phyna, without one of her legs.
The incident happened on August 13 in Auchi, Edo State, when a Dangote truck hit Ruth, a recent graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, as she left campus. The impact caused her severe injuries, including the amputation of one leg. Eyewitnesses prevented the driver from fleeing before police intervened.
Tacha, in a post on X, urged Dangote to compensate the family with at least ₦10 billion, stressing that while money cannot restore Ruth’s health, it would show accountability.
“It’s high time the Dangote Group started paying heavily for the recklessness of their drivers,” she wrote.
Dangote officials have since visited Ruth’s family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, where she is receiving treatment, and pledged to cover her medical expenses alongside additional compensation.
The tragedy has triggered nationwide outrage, with many Nigerians demanding stricter road safety measures and tougher regulations for heavy-duty trucks.
