A 19-year-old teacher, Abdullahi Abbass, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Abuja court for raping his nine-year-old pupil.
The court found that Abbass lured and assaulted the boy after school in Kwali, FCT, in March 2025.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) hailed the verdict as a major win against sexual violence, saying the offender’s name will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
