Tinubu Appoints New Leaders for NUC, NERDC, and NEPAD, Retains SMDF Executive.

President Bola Tinubu has reshuffled leadership across several federal agencies, appointing new chief executives to the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), and the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD).

Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, a professor with expertise in veterinary reproduction, has been appointed Executive Secretary of the NUC.

Ribadu brings a wealth of experience, having previously led the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.

Salisu Shehu, an educational psychologist and former Vice-Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano, now serves as the Executive Secretary of the NERDC.

He is recognised for pioneering the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano.

For NEPAD, Tinubu appointed Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri as National Coordinator.

With a background in international diplomacy and public administration, Tsauri is well-versed in legislative and global affairs.

Meanwhile, Fatima Umaru Shinkafi’s role as Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI) has been extended.

Shinkafi, known for driving reforms in the solid minerals sector, was first appointed under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

An earlier announcement appointing Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani to SMDF/PAGMI has been revoked due to no existing vacancy in the position.

The presidency expressed confidence in the new appointees’ abilities to advance their respective organisations.
