President Bola Tinubu has submitted a ₦1.48 trillion emergency budget for Rivers State to the National Assembly, requesting swift approval following the suspension of the state’s House of Assembly.
The proposal prioritises infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture, with the aim of stimulating job creation and essential service delivery. Notably, ₦324 billion is earmarked for infrastructure, and ₦106 billion for healthcare, including a ₦5 billion malaria drug initiative.
“The budget is designed to stabilise governance and deliver critical services to the people of Rivers State,” Tinubu stated in his letter to the Senate.
The bill has been referred to the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Emergency Rule for review.
