Tonto Dikeh Shares Testimony of Deliverance from 27-Year Smoking Habit

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh opened up about her deliverance from a 27-year smoking addiction during a church service at Streams of Joy International Church on December 15, 2025. She testified before the congregation at the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations event led by Pastor Jerry Eze. Dikeh, now 40 years old, revealed she started smoking at age 13 after seeing her father smoke at home.

Dikeh described how a simple parental habit influenced her deeply. “I started smoking because my dad was a smoker,” she said. “Something as little as that habit can inhabit the lives of your children.” She smoked for 27 years until divine intervention broke the hold, leaving her body repelling cigarettes with no further cravings.

She also spoke of freedom from masturbation, sexual dreams since childhood, alcohol addiction, and intense anger that ruined relationships. “An anger that destroyed my life. Everybody had to feel it,” she shared. Through prayers, especially with the NSPPD platform and at a Ghana Prayer Conference, God granted her lasting peace for the first time.

Dikeh nearly held back her story over image concerns but chose to glorify God instead. “The devil tried to tell me that I was supposed to protect my image,” she explained. “But I told myself, what image? The God that gave me the image is the same God that can take it away.” Pastor Eze prayed over her, declaring the chains broken.

She later posted photos on Instagram, captioning them as a living testimony of mercy, restoration, and commissioning by God. Her public sharing highlights a renewed faith and commitment to serving as a voice in her generation.
