The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion at Tincan First Gate, Apapa, to allow repair work on a damaged pedestrian bridge.
The Ministry of Transportation said the repairs will take place on Saturday, December 20, between 9am and 1pm, and will be done in stages.
During the first stage, the road from Tincan, Apapa to Mile 2 will be completely closed for about 20 minutes while bridge beams are lifted into place. Traffic will reopen immediately after this operation.
In the second stage, vehicles heading from Tincan to Mile 2 will be diverted to a single lane shortly before the repair area, while traffic from Mile 2 to Tincan will continue without restriction. Normal traffic flow will resume after the work is completed.
The ministry urged motorists to remain calm and follow traffic officials, noting that the temporary measures are necessary to ensure safe repairs.
