US Embassy Introduces New Two-Step Visa Application Process in Nigeria.

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has announced changes to the immigrant visa application process, set to take effect from January 1, 2025.

Under the new process, applicants will be required to visit the Lagos Consulate General twice.

The first visit will involve an In-Person Document Review to ensure all necessary documents are complete, minimising delays.

Applicants with missing documents will have the chance to retrieve them before their visa interview, which will be the second visit.

The embassy cautioned that applicants who skip the document review will need to reschedule their interviews.

This update aims to streamline the visa process and follows the embassy’s adoption of a new visa services provider in Abuja and Lagos in August 2024.
