WAEC to Begin Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates on October 25, 2024.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will begin its Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private candidates on October 25, 2024.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, the examination period will run until December 20, 2024.

WAEC spokesperson Adesina Fadekemi explained that the exam will use a hybrid approach.

The objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen, and candidates will submit their responses digitally.

For essay and practical questions, while they will also be displayed on-screen, candidates will provide answers using physical answer booklets.

WAEC will however allow candidates who prefer to take the entire exam using the traditional Paper and Pen method to do so.

The registration deadline for the examination has been extended to October 29, 2024, with a “Walk-in-Candidate” option for those who register 24 hours before their chosen exam paper.
