WAFCON 2025: Tinubu Clears Super Falcons’ Bonuses Ahead of Final

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate release of all outstanding payments for the Super Falcons ahead of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final against Morocco.

Confirming the directive in Abuja on Thursday, National Sports Commission Chairman, Shehu Dikko, said the funds cover every entitlement due to the players, coaches, and officials through to the July 26 decider.

“This will now be the standard, timely payments without drama or delays,” Dikko stated, calling it a sign of the administration’s renewed commitment to Nigerian athletes.

He added that the same policy extends to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, who are preparing for the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Côte d’Ivoire.

“We are building a sports system rooted in dignity, trust, and shared prosperity,” he said.
