NiMet Strike Disrupts Air Travel as Air Peace Halts Flights

Air Peace has halted all of its flight services across Nigeria due to the ongoing strike by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet).

The airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, made the announcement in a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos.

He explained that the strike has disrupted the availability of critical weather reports, including the Current Nowcast of Hazardous Weather (CNH), which are necessary to ensure safe landings, especially during this rainy season with frequent thunderstorms.

“Given the lack of QNH reports, which are essential for flight safety, Air Peace is forced to suspend all operations until the strike concludes,” said Ndiulo.

The airline reassured passengers that their safety is the priority and promised to provide updates as the situation evolves.
