Burna Boy’s U.S. tour is facing heavy backlash after a series of incidents that have damaged his public image and affected ticket sales.
The controversy began in Colorado when he stopped a show to call out a woman he believed was sleeping. She later revealed she was grieving and had attended the concert to feel better. The clip triggered outrage online.
In the days that followed, videos of empty seats at his Houston show and another fan sleeping during his performance fuelled criticism, with many linking the low turnout to his attitude toward fans. Past comments, including saying he only wants fans “with money”, resurfaced and intensified the conversation.
Two tour dates scheduled for November 28 and December 1 were later cancelled, raising more concerns about the tour’s stability.
Public figures like Eminem and streamer Ryan Garcia have weighed in, saying the singer’s behaviour is pushing audiences away.
Many Nigerians abroad and at home have called for a public apology, warning that continued arrogance could hurt his global reputation.
