Nigerian anti-corruption authorities have expanded their search for individuals linked to a large-scale cryptocurrency investment fraud, CBEX, that left thousands of citizens in financial distress.
On Wednesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) named two new suspects, Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun, in connection with the failed platform known as Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).
The duo, both residents of Ikeja, Lagos, are accused of participating in a digital scam that collapsed earlier in the year, reportedly impacting over half a million Nigerians and causing losses said to total ₦1.3 trillion.
The EFCC, in a public alert, appealed to anyone with credible leads on the suspects to reach out through its regional offices or contact law enforcement agencies.
