In a move to upgrade its recruitment infrastructure, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has taken its application portal offline temporarily. The pause is aimed at boosting system performance as a surge of applicants has reportedly strained the platform.

The board confirmed that the portal will become accessible again on Monday, July 21, 2025.

A top official of the board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (retd.), noted that the high traffic volume since the process began on June 30 made it necessary to take the system offline briefly to ensure a smoother experience for all candidates.

The temporary closure affects job applications for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Immigration Service, the Correctional Service, and the Federal Fire Service, all of which fall under CDCFIB’s supervision.

Authorities say the brief suspension will not affect applicants negatively, urging Nigerians to remain patient and submit their forms once the portal is reopened.

The board also reassured the public of its commitment to a recruitment process grounded in transparency and equal opportunity, thanking young Nigerians for their strong interest in public service roles.
