Business mogul Aliko Dangote has named the access road to his Lagos refinery after President Bola Tinubu, in recognition of the President’s long-standing support for infrastructure and private sector-led development.

At the official commissioning of the Deep Sea Port Access Road on Thursday, Dangote made the surprise announcement:

“The Dangote refinery complex is in many ways your brainchild,” he said. “The main road going into our refinery is now going to be called Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road.”

The road is part of a larger 500km road project aimed at boosting regional connectivity, including links to Chad and Cameroon.

During the ceremony, President Tinubu visited the Dangote refinery and hailed it as a landmark project.

“This is a massive investment and a great point of reference,” Tinubu said. “I’m proud of the Deep Sea Port project, which began during my time as Lagos governor. It’s saving businesses huge costs.”

He also applauded Dangote Industries and its contractor for the quality of the road, built under the Tax Credit Scheme.

Dangote responded by assuring the President of continued private sector backing for Nigeria’s development.
