The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2025 results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), marking the completion of assessments for final-year junior secondary school students nationwide.
A total of 179,201 candidates sat for the examination, which spanned from May 12 to May 23 and covered 12 subjects.
The release followed a formal meeting of the BECE Awards Committee held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna. During the session, Dr. Folake David from the Federal Ministry of Education praised the council’s conduct and handling of the exam process.
In addition, NECO announced that students who need to retake English or Mathematics will do so on July 23 and 24, respectively.
The meeting was attended by key NECO officials and several secondary school principals from across Nigeria.
