Nigeria and the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia are teaming up to share ideas in music, films, and fashion. A group of six officials from Saint Lucia visited Chocolate City Group in Lagos, a top entertainment firm in Africa. The trip aims to spark joint projects that help both places make more money through creative work.
The visitors, led by the top official from Saint Lucia’s tourism and culture office, met with the company’s bosses, including co-founder Paul Okeugo and chief executive Abuchi Ugwu. Talks covered swapping talents, making music together, training young artists, and mixing skills across different creative fields.
This follows a deal signed on 2 July 2025 between the two governments. The agreement pushes for closer work in tourism, arts, and culture to drive trade and new ideas. Both sides hope to join each other’s big events, like Saint Lucia’s jazz festival and Nigeria’s end-of-year parties.
The Saint Lucia leader called the link-up a key move to blend the two nations’ lively arts and tales. He said it would light a fire for shared success. Ugwu added that such ties act as a bridge between Africa and the Caribbean, boosting their global reach through creative exports.
The plan mixes Nigeria’s buzzing arts scene with Saint Lucia’s visitor draw to build a new way of linking cultures and business. It sets the stage for swaps in music, films, fashion, paintings, and festivals to grow jobs and fresh thinking.
