The Nigerian Army promoted 28 Brigadier Generals to Major General and 77 Colonels to Brigadier General on Friday. Officials announced the elevations on the army’s X platform to sharpen leadership against security threats. The move reshapes senior ranks across key units and institutions.
Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu congratulated the officers and their families. He urged them to ramp up professional efforts and justify their new roles through bold innovations. Shaibu stressed unwavering loyalty to the constitution and the nation’s defence.
The promotions boost operational strength nationwide. One officer received the honour after his death, a poignant nod to selfless service.

– CA Ekeator, Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
– SY Yakasai, Acting Director Procurement in the Office of the Chief of Army Staff
– WL Nzidee, Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics
– SA Emmanuel, Nigerian Army Signals
– SS Tilawan, Acting Commander Sector 3 Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI
– MO Agi, Desk Officer Tertiary Education Trust Fund at the Nigerian Defence Academy
– IM Abbas, Commander 34 Brigade
– ZA Saidu, posthumously for his dedication
