Nigeria LNG Limited, in partnership with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, has successfully completed an advanced human capacity development programme for 122 individuals as part of the landmark Train 7 Project . The closing ceremony for the three-month intensive, on-the-job training was held at the NLNG plant on Bonny Island .
The initiative, guided by the NCDMB, is a Federal Government programme designed to build technical expertise within the oil and gas sector, in line with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act . The participants, who had previously completed basic training, were equipped with hands-on experience in critical areas such as plant and facility management, instrumentation, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance .
At the event, officials from both organisations highlighted the programme’s success. A representative for NLNG’s Train 7 Project Director commended the trainees for their dedication and the achievement of a perfect safety record throughout the course . The General Manager of Human Capital Development at the NCDMB expressed delight at the outcome, noting it has created a pool of skilled professionals capable of competing globally .
A notable outcome was the recognition of 27 high-performing trainees, with six of the most exceptional participants receiving immediate employment offers from one of the programme’s training partners, AOS Orwell . The Train 7 Project is recognised as one of the most significant gas infrastructure developments underway in Africa .
