Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has turned himself in to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba. This follows his declaration as wanted by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly leading an attack on government officials.
The incident in question occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. During this operation, Portable and nine associates allegedly assaulted the officials, leading to injuries.
After evading initial arrest, Portable surrendered to Lagos authorities. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed his surrender and stated that the Ogun State Police Command had been notified to take over the case.
Confirming his arrival at the SCID in Abeokuta, police spokesperson Omolola Odutola assured the public that due process would be followed and updates provided as necessary. She also urged against the spread of unverified information while investigations continue.
