UAC of Nigeria PLC has signed a deal to acquire Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited) from The Coca-Cola Company, pending regulatory approval.
CHI Limited, the producer of Chivita juices and Hollandia dairy products, is one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage companies.
Announcing the deal, UAC’s Group Managing Director, Fola Aiyesimoju, described the acquisition as a major step in the company’s expansion strategy.
Managing Director of CHI Limited, Eelco Weber, credited the company’s growth to its workforce.
“I would like to thank our over 5,000 employees for their dedication in making Chivita and Hollandia leaders in their categories,” he said.
UAC said the deal would strengthen its position in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods market, while Coca-Cola noted that the transaction aligns with its plan to adopt a flexible, asset-light model in the region.
