Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kolapo Alimi, announced on Tuesday that Governor Ademola Adeleke will disclose his new political party before December 13. The revelation comes amid ongoing turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party that has stalled the governor’s bid for the party’s 2026 ticket. Alimi shared the update during an interview on a local radio station in Osogbo.
Adeleke completed all PDP nomination steps, including form submission and clearance, by late October. Yet national leadership crises, marked by suspensions and court fights, derailed ward congresses and primaries. Party chiefs confirmed Adeleke’s waning interest unless the Independent National Electoral Commission recognises a resolution soon.
Alimi stressed the governor’s commitment to Osun’s progress remains unshaken. He hinted the switch aims to escape PDP’s “internal contradictions” and deliver steady governance. Supporters expect the move to rally fresh alliances ahead of next year’s polls.
This pivot stirs uncertainty in a state craving unity, yet offers hope for bolder paths free from old feuds. Families watch closely, yearning for leaders who heal divides rather than deepen them.
