Jude Okoye, the elder brother of the famous music duo P-Square, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after spending over two months in detention.
The EFCC had charged Jude and his company, Northside Music Limited, with money laundering involving large sums of money, including ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.
His younger brother, Paul (RudeBoy), celebrated Jude’s release on social media, sharing the news with fans and expressing relief after what he described as a long battle.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Paul confirmed the release, writing, “After more than two months, Jude is finally out. All efforts to frustrate his bail have been defeated. Welcome back home, brother, and happy birthday!”
Following the release, a celebration is reportedly in the works. Paul also expressed his unwavering support for his brother, despite the legal challenges surrounding him. This comes after a recent court hearing where Peter, Jude’s younger brother, accused him of diverting royalties by secretly registering a company under his wife’s name.
The legal case, which continues to unfold, has drawn attention to the strained relationships within the Okoye family, with Paul sharing his reflections on enduring personal betrayals. He emphasised the importance of loyalty and true family values, stating that love should never involve manipulation or exploitation.
