The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course will officially begin on Wednesday, June 11, at all official camps across Nigeria.
This update comes as the scheme prepares to welcome a fresh set of corps members into its year-long national service, beginning with the three-week orientation course. Registration at the camps opens on the same day and is expected to close by midnight on Friday, June 13. The swearing-in ceremony will also take place on that Friday, while the orientation ends on Tuesday, July 1.
All prospective corps members have been directed to report to the camps indicated on their call-up letters. The NYSC also reminded foreign-trained graduates to present their original international passports alongside all relevant academic credentials that had been uploaded during registration.
To be cleared for camp, prospective corps members must arrive with the original copy of their call-up letter, academic certificates or statements of result, and a valid school ID. They must also present a medical certificate of fitness from a recognised public or military hospital, stamped by the Nigeria Medical Association.
For those in regulated professions such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or physiotherapy, official proof of registration with their respective professional bodies is required.
Polytechnic and monotechnic graduates must also provide their National Diploma certificates for verification.
Amid growing security concerns, the NYSC has advised all participants to make safe travel plans, strictly avoid night journeys, and patronise only transport companies operating from approved motor parks. In cases where it becomes unsafe to continue a journey, corps members are urged to lodge at the nearest military barracks, police station, NYSC secretariat, or official lodge.
Those who lose their call-up letters are expected to file a police report and provide a sworn affidavit. While those who received their letters through their schools must return there to request reissuance, those who registered online can easily reprint from the NYSC portal.
The scheme has also provided special considerations for married women, expectant mothers, and nursing mothers posted outside their husbands’ places of residence. Such individuals may be allowed to report to camps in their current state of residence but must present valid evidence of marriage, a form of identification belonging to their spouse, and documentation confirming the husband’s address.
NYSC also issued a stern warning against the use of forged documents, adding that culprits risk arrest and disqualification. It reiterated that any attempt to avoid national service or illegally participate in the scheme is a punishable offence under the law.
As preparations for orientation intensify, the NYSC is calling on all prospective corps members to adhere to instructions, travel safely, and treat the orientation course as a vital part of their national integration and service journey.
