Officers in Ogun State have pulled a young man from a furious mob after he tried to pass as a military member and got caught. The 28-year-old, named Shina Oluwaseun from Lagos, had on a full army uniform but no real ties to the forces.

The trouble started on Wednesday in the Sango-Ota area when the man, acting like a soldier, tried to boss people around and grab money from traders without cause. Shop owners and passers-by spotted the fake gear and badges, leading to a quick chase and beat-down.

Local police rushed in after a call, grabbing Oluwaseun before the crowd did worse harm. They took him to their base for checks and plan to charge him soon for scams and wearing false uniforms.

The state police chief praised the team’s fast move and warned against such tricks that stir unrest. He urged folks to report odd behaviour to keep areas calm.
