Academic and non-academic staff at Lagos State University have embarked on a full shutdown of activities after talks with management over long-standing grievances collapsed.
In a joint resolution issued after an emergency meeting, representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Senior Staff Association, Non-Academic Staff Union and technologists announced that all campuses, including LASUCOM in Ikeja and the Epe campus, would be affected.
The directive, which takes effect immediately, orders members to “withdraw their services and vacate all duty posts until the outstanding issues are fully resolved.”
The industrial action is expected to halt ongoing academic activities and disrupt plans for the second semester examinations scheduled to begin next week.
