The Federal Government has rolled out a free one-year training programme for teachers handling technical and vocational subjects in public secondary schools across Nigeria.

This initiative offers a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and is designed to equip educators with up-to-date teaching skills aligned with industry standards. It’s part of the government’s renewed efforts to strengthen technical and vocational education and better prepare students for the demands of today’s workforce.

Eligible teachers, those still having at least five years left before retirement, are encouraged to apply. The programme covers various specialisations, including electrical and electronics, building technology, home economics, agricultural science, business education, and computer science, among others.

Applications will be open from July 8 to July 21, 2025, through the Federal Ministry of Education’s official website. Only one application per person is allowed to avoid disqualification.

The programme will be hosted by select federal universities spread across regions, including those in Zaria, Nsukka, Minna, Benin, Bauchi, and Ondo, ensuring nationwide accessibility.
